Project Overview

This was a fantastic project from a gentleman in Red Bluff California.  It's  a double sided porcelain sign that was flag mounted on a pole, probably in front of an old gas station back in the forty's or fifty's. This sign had no neon on it whatsoever. This is what we consider a "complete Restore". Although I don't have a video of it, The green wings actually flashed.

Notable Techniques & Materials

Made all the patterns and fresh neon new.

Full rewiring and structural rebuild

Full restoration of original neon glass tubing

Historical preservation with modern lighting standards

Super happy return customer

Project Overview

What a great project this was, We had such a fantastic time working on this Gem. It's a circa 1945 Motor Supply Co. Sign. Double sided porcelain, totally gutted of it's electrical, Very little neon glass left, but the fantastic part was that the faces, made of porcelain were in mint condition. This sign rated on our acceptance scale as a 91, one of the best score we've ever had.

Project Overview

Only a handful of times in my career have I had the pleasure of restoring something as rewarding as this. This circa 1924 double-sided corrugated “Garage” sign, complete with arrow, was a real gem. Designed as a wall mount, it still had all its original brackets in place. The corrugated metal is believed to be surplus from the war—many signs of that era were crafted from such materials. We carefully touched up some of the paint on one side, as it had nearly faded away. The customer wanted just a bit of life brought back into it.

Notable Techniques & Materials

The corrugated metal is a rare feature, seen only on a handful of signs from the 1920s and early 1930s. The raised metal letters are a testament to the craftsmanship of that era—something rarely seen today. All the original housings remain intact, along with most of the original hand-blown glass supports. These are telltale signs of pre-1930 mass-produced stands, before glass blowers began making their own. It’s been incredibly rewarding to work on and experience such a remarkable piece.
