GAS

GAS

This is a double sided porcelain sign from the 1940-1950's, It was a flag mount on a pole, probably out front of a gas station anywhere USA. These types of signs litter the American Highways like route 66. This sign came to us in mint condition with an acceptance score of 87.

Showing it's age.

Some of our clients want to keep the old weathered look to help preserve the fact that it's a million years old. This type of degradation is a tribute to its time weathered battle. We love to see the "Keep it Real" policy. The more you change on a sign like this, the less it becomes.

Ferro Oakland

Many times we will get wonderful clues to the past. This label indicates that these faces for this sign were made by a company in Oakland California called Farro Porcelain. These types of little nuggets help us in determining the signs age, place of birth, etc.

Met Half Way

This gentleman from Red Bluff California wanted Fire Creek to restore his sign, So we agreed to meet him half way. We met at the Mt. Shasta Rays Food Place  and transferred the sign from his truck to ours. a few weeks later, we met him back at the same location and replaced his old non lit sign with a brand new refurbished Sign.

At least one made it.

This is a picture of the bottom pole mount, it seemed to have made it through the test of time much better than the top mount (pictured previous). As usual the customer wanted to keep both these mounts in there original state. .
